As an alternative to the on-premise scenario Locus Technology offers the option of a cloud based LabTracks solution via Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, and we see a growing interest in this. In the cloud based situation Locus staff will completely take care of database and server maintenance without involving a client’s technical or personnel resources. Many clients, in the US and internationally, may have challenges when it comes to local IT support, be it cost, response time or something else. A cloud based deployment can be fully scaled whether that be by user limit, security, availability, locality or anything else to meet an individual clients needs.
